Who we are

GreenKwacha Initiative (“GreenKwacha,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) builds equitable carbon-finance infrastructure that returns climate revenue to the communities doing the work. You can reach us at hello@greenkwacha.org.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, such as your name, email address, mobile phone number, and any message content, when you contact us, subscribe to updates, opt in to receive text messages, donate, or participate in our programs. We also collect limited technical information (such as device and usage data) automatically when you visit our website.

How we use your information

We use your information to operate and improve our programs, respond to your inquiries, process donations, and — where you have opted in — send you text message updates. We use it only for the purposes described in this policy or otherwise disclosed to you at the time of collection.

SMS / text messaging program

When you opt in to our text messaging program, we send SMS or messaging updates related to our programs, field activities, and initiatives.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

• Message frequency varies. You will receive up to approximately 2–4 messages per month depending on the program you join.
• Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier may charge fees for sending or receiving text messages.
• To opt out at any time, reply STOP to any message. You will receive a single confirmation and no further messages.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate our website and messaging (for example, payment and messaging providers), only as needed to perform services on our behalf, or where required by law. As stated above, mobile opt-in information and consent are never shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

Donations & payment information

When you donate, payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. Your full card or bank details are entered on Stripe’s secure systems and are handled by Stripe under its own privacy policy; we do not receive or store your full payment card number. We retain donation records — such as your name, email, amount, and date — for receipting, accounting, and legal and tax-reporting purposes.

Data security & retention

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information and retain it only as long as necessary for the purposes described here or as required by law.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from text messages at any time by replying STOP, and from emails using the unsubscribe link. To request access to or deletion of your information, contact us at hello@greenkwacha.org.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
